Job Title: Electrician
Hours: 22 Hours per Week (Wed–Fri Lunchtime) -This will suit a self-employed Electrician who’s looking for extra workload
Rate: Competitive – hourly rate open to discussion
Location: Newport, South Wales

About the Role

We’re looking for a well‑rounded Electrician to support a wide range of installation, maintenance, testing and inspection works across domestic, commercial and industrial environments. This role offers a consistent, predictable working pattern and a genuinely varied workload.

 

Working Pattern:

You’ll work a standard 22‑hour week, covering:

  • Wednesday
  • Thursday
  • Friday (finishing at 1pm)

 

There is an option to work two light weeks and then a heavy weeks but will still be a total of 66 hours across 3 weeks, this is around 12 months worth work with potential of more hours across the summer months.

 

Typical Work Breakdown

  • Rewires, consumer units, sockets/lighting, fault finding, EV chargers
  • lighting, data, emergency lighting, PPM
  • Motors, machinery, control panels, automation, complex fault diagnosis
  • Reactive and planned maintenance across all environments
  • EICRs, PAT, certification, BS 7671 compliance

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

 

Essential:

  • BS 7671 (installation, inspection & testing)
  • PAT testing competency
  • MEWP 3A & 3B
  • Experience across domestic, commercial, and/or industrial settings
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
  • JIB / ECS Gold Card
  • Own tools including:
  • Basic hand tools
  • Megger / multifunction tester
  • RCD tester
  • PAT tester
