Project Overview

As part of the decommissioning of Aberthaw Power Station, OMEGA Environmental Services was appointed to undertake a major programme of licensed asbestos removal works ahead of the site’s demolition.

The project involved the safe removal of asbestos-containing materials from multiple high-risk areas, including the Boiler Houses, Turbine Halls and associated plant rooms. Working across a complex industrial environment with multiple asbestos enclosures operating simultaneously required strict compliance with health and safety legislation, meticulous planning and a consistent supply of experienced, site-ready operatives.

With close coordination needed between asbestos removal, scaffolding and demolition teams, maintaining a skilled workforce throughout the 2.5 year programme was essential to keeping the project on schedule while meeting the highest standards of safety and compliance.
